Chief Secretary Alok Kumar Jain reviewed proposed works under 13th Finance Commission

 Chief Secretary Alok Kumar Jain reviewed proposed works under 13th Finance Commission on Wednesday at Secretariat and directed the officers to check past track record of undertaking agencies before making selection.
Chief Secretary Jain directed the officers to select the place for proposed Nursing Colleges at Tehri, Pauri, Chamoli, Almora and Pithoragarh where 120-bed hospital was available. He asked them to make selection as per the set criteria. He also instructed them to ensure that along with the Nursing College, hostel for students were constructed and GNM and B.Sc. Nursing classes too were conducted.
Reviewing the construction of auditorium and museum proposed by the Cultural Department, Chief Secretary said that the lay out and design should represent the culture of Uttarakhand. He said that construction of Board building at Roorkee and Training Centre for teachers in Dehradun were under the proposal of Technical Education. He said that a sports stadium of international standard worth Rs. 25 crore would be constructed in 15.2 acre land at Haldwani by Sports Department. Rural Development Department has proposed to construct residents for Rural Development Officer and Community Centres for common people in five border districts. Irrigation Department has proposed to work in the field of water management. Chief Secretary also directed the officers to constitute Water Regulatory Authority for drinking water and irrigation.
The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary, Technical Education, Rakesh Sharma; Principal Secretary, Rural Development, Arun Dhaundiyal; Secretary, Tourism, Dr. SS Sandhu; Secretary, Irrigation, NS Negi; Secretary, School Education, Manisha Panwar; Secretary, Finance, Radha Raturi and other senior officers.
