Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna said that the state government would promote religious tourism in the state



Dehradun, 15 May:
Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna said that the state government would
promote religious tourism in the state so that employment
opportunities would be generated for the local people.
Chief Minister Bahuguna addressing a program organized by Himalayan
Minority Committee at CM Residence, New Cantt Road on Tuesday said
that the state government was serious towards the welfare of minority
communities in the state. He said that the government had launched
several welfare schemes to connect them to the main stream of
development and had constituted separate ministry for them.
Jamyuk Lokse of Tibetan Community described constitution of separate
ministry as a long term decision of Chief Minister Bahuguna. Hemkund
Sahib Trustee Narendra Jeet Singh Bindra said that after Mr. Bahuguna
took over as Chief Minister the infrastructure development has speed
up around Hemkund Gurudwara and the pilgrims had started reaping
benefit out of them. Yaqub Siddiqui described decision taken for the
welfare of minorities a historic one in the 12 years of state's
existence. President of Himalayan Minority Committee MN Farooqui said
that Chief Minister was sensitive towards the welfare and development
of minorities and his good governance was visible through his working
style.
Also present on the occasion were Afzal Manglori, Nazma Khan, Harpal
Sethi, Vivek Khanduri and Raju Bindra.
