Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna advocating for small  districts in hill areas said that a Revenue Committee had been constituted to  realize the dream of small districts in the hill region of Uttarakhand. He  maintained that overall development of hill areas was possible only when the  districts were small.
Chief Minister Bahuguna addressing a public meeting at  Chakrata on Saturday said that concept of comprehensive development of state  was possible only through development of remote, rural and backward areas. "Our  Government wants no controversy as far as development of the state is  concerned," he asserted and added that the Revenue Committee would submit  report to the Government and appropriate steps taken.
Chief Minister, responding to the requests made by  Rural Development Minister Pritam Singh who is also the area MLA announced  about 124 development projects. He also announced establishment of Technical  Education Institute and Engineering   College at Chakrata and ITIs  at Lakhamandal, Panjitilani, Lakhwad and Kathiyan. Mr. Bahuguna also gave his  consent for upgradation of 21 high schools in Chakrata area and constructions  of degree college buildings at Chakrata and Tyuni. The other announcements made  by him included establishment of Allopathic  Hospital at Lower Koru and Vinsoun,  Primary Health Centre at Koti Ichhari, Ayurvedic  Hospital in Darmigarh, inclusion of  life history of Shaheed Kesri Chand in Primary School syllabus, promotion of Shaheed Kesri Chand   Memorial Ramtal   Garden as tourist spot  and installation of Freedom Fighter Funku Das Shaheed Smarak. 
Earlier, Cabinet Minister Pritam Singh placing about  124 demands to the Chief Minister apprised him about the various problems  existing in his constituency that included lack of education, road, medical and  other basic facilities. He also urged the Chief Minister to declare Binhar  backward area and generate employment opportunities for local youths. He also  stressed on developing Jaunsar area as tourist place beginning with Ashoka  Pillar at Kalsi. Mr. Pritam Singh also placed his demands for constructions of  bridges, constructions and extension of roads which were included by the Chief  Minister in his announcements. 
Also present on the occasion were former Zila  Panchayat Chairman Chaman Singh, Chakrata Block Pramukh Rajpal, Congress  leaders Sardar Singh, Khushiram Sharma, Pankaj Jain, Sanjay Paliwal, Ajay  Singh, Brahmadutt Sharma and Rajendra Agarwal.
