Parliamentary Affairs Minister Indira Hridayesh today advocated setting up a museum and preserving creations of renowned litterateur Sumitranandan Pant. She said that his birthplace Kausani in Bageshwar District should be developed into a literature and Educational tourism hub. She asked the officers of Hindi Sahitya Academy to prepare action plan for the same.
Minister Dr. Hridayesh, while chairing the meeting of Uttarakhand Bhasha Sansthan and Uttarakhand Hindi Sahitya Academy at Vidhan Sabha auditorium on Tuesday laid emphasis on connecting the young generation to Hindi and regional languages. She expressed her grim concern towards declining interest of youths towards literature. She also asked the officers to preserve ancient literatures and 'Pandulipis'. Dr. Hridayesh stressed on developing Uttarakhand Hindi Academy to a national level academy. She said that documents of religious and historical importance and those relating to Char Dham ought to be published. She also advocated publishing memoirs related to writers like Kalidas, Ravindranath Tagore and Mahadevi Verma and including their biographies in school syllabus. Dr. Hridayesh said that Hindi teachers of English medium schools ought to be felicitated so as to encourage interest towards Hindi. She asked the officers of Bhasha Sansthan to display life histories of litterateurs in tourist places.
The meeting was attended by Additional Secretary Planning Pankaj Pandey, Additional Secretary Language Vinod Sharma, Director Bhasha Sansthan Dr. Savita Mohan and Secretary of Uttarakhand Hindi Academy Dr. MR Saklani amongst others.
