Out of 266 stations identified for development under ‘Adarsh’ stations scheme,


Upgradation of Railway Stations 
Out of 266 stations identified for development under ‘Adarsh’ stations scheme, 73 Railway stations have been developed as ‘Adarsh’ stations as per norms during 2011-12 . 
As regard to development of World Class Railway Stations, consultancy works for preparation of Master Plan and Feasibility Report had been taken up for New Delhi, Chatrapathi Shivaji Terminus (CST) Mumbai and Patna. Action has also been initiated for appointment of Consultants for Secunderabad, Anand Vihar (Phase III), Chandigarh, Bijwasan, Porbandar, Surat, Ahmedabad, Sealdah and Chennai Central. For other stations, preliminary activities have been taken up by the Zonal Railways. 
Upgradation of stations under various schemes is a continuous process. As per the Railway Budget 2012-13, 84 more stations have been identified for development under the ‘Adarsh’ station scheme. 
This information was given by the Minister of State for Railways, Shri Bharatsinh Solanki in a written reply in Rajya Sabha today.
