Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna said that the state government would pay encouragement allowances to the state government employees posted at border areas.

Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna said that the state government would pay encouragement allowances to the state government employees posted at border areas. He said that the government would very soon implement recommendations of Wage Board for the welfare of entire state government employees.
Chief Minister Bahuguna speaking as the Chief Guest of Annual Convention of INTUC on Sunday at a Wedding Point located at Rispana said that state had a pro-industry environment and the state government was serious towards the welfare of the workers working in the industries. He said that Gairsen was a symbol of backwardness as far as development was concerned. "We will hold a Cabinet Meeting there on October 2, 2012," he said adding that the government was committed to the development of backward and border areas.
Mr. Bahuguna said that coordination between workers and the entrepreneurs was necessary to enhance industrialization process in the state. He said that the industrialists should take advantage of pro-industry environment in Uttarakhand by setting up more industries here. Advising the workers not to take Law and Order in their hands, he said that the state government was serious towards their welfare and the rights and would try to resolve their problems on priority basis. He said that arrangement for a separate fund of Rs. 100 crore would be made for the development of backward Development Blocks.
          Chief Minister Bahuguna rued that the state had to purchase power from other states in high cost despite it having potential to sell power to other states. "We will take appropriate measures to improve the situation in this direction," he said.
State INTUC President Hira Singh Bisht handed over a Charter of Demand to the Chief Minister seeking salary to Sugar Mill workers at par State Government employees, check in breach of Labour Law, increments in the minimum wages of Aganwadi workers, regularization of contract or daily wages workers, end contract system in the state and resolution to irregularities in salary of workers in various corporations.
Also present on the occasion were Planning, Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Dinesh Agarwal, Mini Industry Minister Harish Durgapal, National President of INTUC Dr. G Sanjeeva Reddy and former MLA Jot Singh Gunsola.
